Division applying for: Rangers Division
Experience with Star Wars RP: After playing Garry's mod for over half a decade and a play time of over 4000 hours I have had time to acquaint myself with the Star Wars Experience and Garry's mods many other facets. Formerly a 501st aficionado I spent my lasts few months on Garry's mod trying new things such as Republic Commando and Jedi, a side of Star Wars RP I did not engage with previously. Relevance? Well I guess you could say to the point of my overall experience on Star Wars RP and what opportunities I have had. I do plan on leaving Garry's mod again eventually, I am well aware that my enjoyment is dwindling but the time I have preserved for a return would truly be nourished In an environment such as this, a completely new take on the genre.
Knowledge of Corp: My understanding of this completely new Star Corp is that it will act as a more hyperbolic take on a realistic regiment you would see in todays world. The 161st Star Corp will have many branches spanning from the common rifleman branch to Mechanized Corp all compartmentalized into one singular unit. The 161st Star Corp have been tasked with protecting the republics strategic interests within the Inner Core and Mid-Rim sections of the galaxy.
Furthermore, the Rangers Division will operate within the following areas of the Star Corp, Reconnaissance, Sniping & Interpreter/Translations. This would also extend to target identification and potentially clandestine operations. Observation and concealment is what the division would heavily rely on to fulfil the requirements of a mission and ensure mission objective is successfully completed. It is also worth noting that a division which would typically wish to stay off the radar and out of sight when completing tasks would be more efficient as a smaller more condensed/cohesive unit. Numbers seen in a frontline, mechanized or airborne unit would not be as prominent within a reconnaissance team. Going off of a typical regiment you could expect 4-8 troops within the Rangers Division during an operation (until the player base further expands).
Why do you think you should get this position?: My experience, attitude and discipline are at the forefront of my desires for this division and gaining this position would allow me to ensure the skills, knowledge and capabilities of each troop are up to par for the Rangers to exceed their roles as the 161st Star Corp's eyes and ears.
Are you active on Prestige Alliance?: At some point.
Are you aware if you are inactive for 7 days with no further notice you will be demoted from your position?: Yes.
Are you aware that you cannot apply if you have issues joining the server?: Yes.
Do you have a microphone? Yes.
How available are you? Can be on everyday.
What makes you a good commander? Awareness. I acknowledge the help of others and hold many in high regard for their efforts, if I cannot make change I will certainly ensure my replacement can. Sometimes its best to know when you're needed and when you aren't, If my time here is spent doing something then at least it wasn't for nothing. My skills are one thing, I have been the leader of 501st countless times, I have been Colonel of the SAS on MRP and Republic Commando Niner but my spirit is something different. Combat Skills are great for your ego but skills in the craft of a commander are great for everyone. I am capable of teaching, learning and expanding upon what I know and what other know.
What is the Golden Rule? Never harm a fellow comrade
What do you do if you are retreating from direct fire and a trooper is left behind? I would order the troops to form a center peel supressing the enemy and hopefully giving the oppo enough time to fall back to our formation. However, if the trooper is injured and cannot retreat himself I would get the men to bound forwards toward the trooper and order a combat medic to drag the injured troop into cover where he can tend to his wounds safely. In the aftermath of a serious SNAFU where Ranger units are taking casualties, a member of the Rangers Division would try gain contact with intelligence and request a casvac via Low Altitude Assault Transport.
